The sixth track from
Paul-Gerhard Wiebecke: "beatmusic"
Six pieces, each of which is self-contained. They offer musical themes inspired by the beat, rock, funk and soul music of the 60s, 70s and 80s. In addition to these themes, they offer the performers one or two solos per piece. These are written out, but can be individually shaped or entirely improvised by the players, depending on their mood. The common musical themes are sometimes four-part, often three-part, which makes playing challenging for both instrumentalists. But here, too, changes and simplifications are allowed! Otherwise, the inclined instrumentalist can also take the notes in pitch, rhythm and dynamics etc. as they are set in black and white. On the cello as well as on the bass, every note here is hard-won, tried and tested and feasible on the respective instrument.
