The 4 Songs without Words op. 19 1 and 2 and op. 30 1 and 4 in a version for double bass and piano by Karl-Hans Bonzelett. The latter was a student of Prof. Rolf Heister, who writes about the pieces: "I studied the Mendelssohn transcriptions (songs without words) with pleasure. The works "suit" the instrument well and certainly contribute to the musical development of the players. The pieces can be made to sound well because the playing positions are normal.
