A jazz piece for "swinging". The double bass introduces the theme, followed by notated parts in which the double bass and piano alternate in melody and accompaniment, as well as a part with chord symbols for pure improvisation, which can also be skipped if the performers do not have the confidence to improvise. Before it leads into a slow ending, the double bass takes over the theme again.
This piece is based on the song of the same name for violoncello and double bass (see there) and can also be played by the cello. It is intended for the double bass alone in orchestral tuning, so there is no transposed piano part.
